Volunteer Information

Positions are now available for Rabbit Socializers, Feeders,

Veggie Transportation, Rabbit Limo, Adoption counselors,

General Office and Cleaning assistants, and more. If you

have a few hours a week or month to give to the foster animals,

and you are interested in being part of an enthusiastic,

caring, and dedicated team of fellow BunnyLuv'rs, then

Laundry

We desperately need volunteers to help with laundry!  There is a Laundromat right across the street and all money and supplies are provided.  Less than 2 hours, once or twice a month, will be a huge help.

Hamsters

We need volunteers to clean hamster habitats.  Our rotation still calls for one or two more people who can come once or twice per month each.  It does not take very long and the hamsters are sooooooooo cute!

Events

If you enjoy working informational or just plain social events, and are available on weekends, please reply by email.  Check the chapter calendar of events to see some of the dates we need help with. 

Crafts

Crafts? Yes, crafts! BLRRC volunteers have come up with some amazing gift items that BunnyLuv'rs adore! Please consider donating some of your own projects. All proceeds go 100% to the care of our foster buns. If you are interested in making some fund-raising items, or have other bunny knick-knacks that someone else might enjoy, please let us know.

Transporting

Are you available to drive bunnies to the vet, or to bring them back to BunnyLuv?  Please let us know if you can help with transporting buns to/from their spay/neuter appointments.

Waiters, Waitresses???

Anyone passing by Van Nuys after work? Got a free lunch break?  Even if you only have 15 minutes, come and pass out a serving of hay or veggies and let the herd of foster rabbits help you to forget your work day!

Tours

Saturdays we are busy with visitors and new members who want to meet the foster buns and learn more about BLRRC services and adoptions. Volunteers are needed to give tours and answer questions.

Socializing

BLRRC foster buns are waiting patiently for their new homes but really enjoy some extra affection in the meantime.  Let us know when you are available to give a little petting to some needy buns, or just drop by.

Construction

We need cabinets installed in our shelter for holding dishes, medical supplies, linens, and cleaning supplies. We also need a landing for the bunnies to play on in the rabbit corral.  If you are handy, please grab your tools and come on by!  

Nail Clipping and Grooming 

About once a month, we need to do a bit of a check up on each of our 50 foster buns. We clip nails, comb, and closely look over each foster bun. This is a big project and takes a few hours if we only have a couple of people. If you would be comfortable grooming foster buns, please grab your sweatshirt and come on by!

Odds and Ends

There are always soooooooo many other things that come up that we need help with. If there is something you’d like to do that you do not see on this list, please just let us know!

Distributing Literature

If you would like a supply of helpful BLRRC literature, plus  guidelines regarding distribution of literature, get in touch and we’ll get you set up.

Enlisting Donations

Volunteers are needed to enlist the help and generosity of local businesses.  If you are good at begging or have corporate contacts, please reply.

We have all kinds of projects, some that require experience, and some that are perfect for those new to rabbits. Spending time volunteering is a great way to learn more about rabbits while you help just by becoming involved.  Novices welcome!
